Who Is Superman?

Superman is a beloved superhero who first appeared in American comic books in 1938. He was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster for DC Comics. Superman's real name is Kal-El, and he is the last surviving child of the planet Krypton.

Superman's Origins

After Krypton's destruction, baby Kal-El was sent to Earth in a spaceship by his parents. He landed in Smallville, Kansas, where he was found and adopted by Jonathan and Martha Kent. They named him Clark Kent, and he grew up unaware of his true origins. As Clark grew older, he began to develop superhuman abilities, such as super strength, speed, and flight.
