Liverpool legend Alan Hansen is seriously ill in hospital, the club has confirmed.
The 68-year-old former defender made over 600 appearances for the Reds during a 14-year career at Anfield.
Hansen was a key member of Liverpool's success in the 1980s, winning eight league titles and three European Cups.
He also won 26 caps for Scotland and was part of the team that reached the World Cup semi-finals in 1982.
After retiring from playing, Hansen became a successful television pundit, working for the BBC and ITV.
Liverpool said in a statement: "The thoughts and support of everyone at Liverpool FC are with Alan and his family at this time."
No further details about Hansen's condition have been released.
